Dear Linda,
I’m writing to you from London, from my new apartment. I know it’s hard for you to accept what has happened to you, but I pray every day for your recovery.
I still remember you, how you didn’t hide your discomfort towards me and our sister Katherine. She couldn’t do otherwise—running away to America was the only way for her to pursue her dream, while for me… for me things are different. I know your deeply Christian soul prevents you from accepting me, but I hope for your sake that one day our relationship will be different. What do you say if we go on holiday together this summer? I’d like to breathe some sea air, at that hotel in Torquay...

Victor Jaspen (1900-1961)
"When I met Victor in the '20s, he was investigating the death of my grandfather, William Redgrave II, the 'Nurse Killer Case.' It was one of his first assignments for Scotland Yard, and he was a bit clumsy... From that moment, I knew we would become great friends. Thanks to him and his encouragement, I began my career as a journalist. His kind heart and strong sense of justice will always be a great source of inspiration to me."
