Il caso Exodus

Cloyd Anderson (1952-     )

Born in 1952 to English parents who had immigrated to America, Cloyd Anderson grew up alone with her brother Herman, who was 13 years older than her. After the death of their parents, Cloyd found herself speaking to their ghosts as a way to cope with the trauma.

The corpse identified as No. 1766596, an unidentified Hispanic woman, became the obsession of forensic pathologist Cloyd Anderson in the early 1970s, when she started working as a Medical Examiner at the Federal Institute of Charleston (West Virginia).

Cloyd's past repeatedly surfaced in her mind, morally compelling her to give a name to the body discovered in Charleston’s industrial district. Only the Hispanic features were distinctly visible, but beyond that, there were no clues. Then, upon further examination, Dr. Anderson found something peculiar: hairs from a Yaguarundi Nix, a rare albino puma species found only on the refuge island of a well-known Spanish artist.

During her journey (and the dangerous investigation that followed) to the Atoll of Cats, Cloyd discovered that a Hispanic woman had indeed passed through the island during a journey of hope from Eastern Europe to America. After uncovering the name of the ship, the Priamus, Dr. Anderson managed to trace the arrival port… Richmond, Virginia.
